Part 6 - 1995

It's 1995 all over again! Theme Park, FIFA, Discworld, Command and Conquer, X-Com and Star Trek all feature in our return to the top 121 games of all time.

 

part 7 - 1996

Cool Brittania is in full swing with sport, music and culture revolving around the UK, but we’re here for the games. The Playstation is establishing itself with Wipeout 2097, We revisit the Pratchett universe with Discworld 2, get our alternate history on in Command & Conquer Red Alert, and wander about Terok Nor in Star Trek Deep Space Nine Harbinger.

part 8 - 1997

We’re nice and comfy in the mid 90s now, with Blockbuster Video and HMV thriving, we’re spoiled for choice across media in general. The Playstation is competing in the point and click adventure space with Broken Sword 2, as well as dominating the sports genre with FIFA 98. We also had the most complex X-COM ever with Apocalypse, and Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight on the PC. Good times.

part 9 - 1998

As we edge closer to the end of the century we find a lot of fun, and a lot of apprehension. Change is in the air and we're caught between the fun carefree youth of the 90s, and the reflective maturity of what's to come. So obviously, this is Playstation terrirory, with Gran Turismo, Resident Evil 2 and Tekken 3 ensuring this year was known as a classic, even before we get to X-Com Interceptor and the legendary Half Life.
